Pura Vida en Playa Tamarindo

Every day the father of our host family spouts the pleasant cliché “Pura vida”, and this usually summarizes what we’re all thinking.

Travelling, Spanish school and surfing are going very well! We’ve seen an erupting volcano, sloths, monkeys, tarantulas, scorpions, poisonous snakes and frogs, iguanas and chickens. More details on Eva’s blog.

Last night Eva and I made a pizza dinner for our host family. The father, Oldemar, had never before eaten pizza, and was quite pleased with the result.

If you’re reading this and get the chance, please post a comment or email me an update! It’s great to hear news from friends and family back home.

  1. Hi!
I think it was very interesting to see some of my american relatives on internet. My father was the son of Iver and Berntine Monsen living outside of Molde (Norway) at Eidskrem. My father’s first name was Bård and the names of some of his brothers were Martin, Sigurd, Ragnvald….

I live in Trondheim about 300 km north of Molde. For the first time I talked with Rob Monsen on the phone to day.

    Do you use skype? (skype.com).
My user name on skype is galin22 at home and at work ibe2004 Call me if you have an opportunity!

  2. Hey mang!

Costa Rica sounds great, especially the tarantula pizza. I bet Oldemar has never had that before!

Wow, you guys are going to Spanish school?! Diana and I are learning “while we go” here in Spain. Luckily we had some high school training so we´re making it through ok…at least enough to keep an interesting (if not eclectic) variety of tapas coming.

I´ve heard about surfing in Costa Rica. Sounds awesome. I´m sure you two are having a great time.

Thanks again for having Diana and I to your wedding. You and Eva make a great couple. Let´s be sure to catch up when we´re both back in the U.S.

    Take care,
